Located in the heart of Smithfield, The Red Lion Building is a large modern 6 storey building offering a range of business and office spaces.
Our brief was to propose a light touch refurbishment of the entrance, reception, communal areas, tenant facilities which included a communal breakout space and bike store and the vacant office suits to make them more attractive, easier to use and the building easier to navigate.
Our first move was to propose a suite of materials and colours that were soft in essence, but that would act pulling everything together as a cohesive and polished whole, transforming a functional design into a truly inviting space.
We focused on making impactful yet subtle changes, using mainly paint and a thoughtfully curated selection of prints, soft furnishings, feature lighting, plants and updated wayfinding signage to enhance the spaces,
To maintain sustainability and minimise waste and expenditure, we prioritised reupholstering existing furniture rather than purchasing new pieces.
